PURE DRX-702ES Wins What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Tuner Product of the Year Award 2003

London, UK: PURE Digital – a division of Imagination Technologies – is delighted to announce that its PURE DRX-702ES DAB/FM/AM radio tuner has won the Product of the Year award in the tuner category of the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards 2003.

This award makes a hat-trick of What Hi-Fi? Tuner Product of the Year awards for PURE Digital. PURE's DRX-701ES won the award in 2002 and the DRX-601ES was the first DAB digital radio ever to win in the awards in 2001.

PURE also won a Best Buy Award this year in the Accessories category for its EVOKE-1 DAB radio – the world's best selling DAB digital radio.

On receiving the awards from What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision editor Steve Fowler at the presentation at London's Park Lane Hilton on September 8th 2003, PURE Digital's president, Kevin Dale said: "We are delighted that we have yet again been recognised by the most prestigious hi-fi and home entertainment awards in the UK. We've now won three years running, which is a fantastic endorsement for PURE Digital and for DAB digital radio.

"With both the DRX-702ES and our £99 EVOKE-1 DAB radio being so well received this is set to be another very exciting Christmas for digital radio."

Said What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision editor Steve Fowler: "[DRX-702ES] is a fine tuner by any standards, and a superb buy given its excellent flexibility. PURE Digital wins again with its best tuner yet, combining digital and analogue reception to truly offer the best of both worlds." Continuing to the EVOKE-1 he said: "The EVOKE-1 is an affordable easy to use digital radio that looks good and sounds great."

The DRX-702ES (£329 SSP inc. VAT) features DAB, FM and AM support as well as optional balanced outputs for the audiophile or professional user. The EVOKE-1 (£99.99 SSP inc. VAT) is a stand-alone DAB radio ideal for any room in the house.
