VideoLogic DRX-601ES Wins at What Hi-Fi Sound and Vision Awards 2001

VideoLogic – a division of Imagination Technologies – is delighted to announce that its DRX-601ES DAB digital radio tuner has won the Product of the Year award in the tuner category of What Hi Fi Sound And Vision Awards 2001.

The DRX-601ES is part of VideoLogic's DRX tuner family, which has revolutionised the DAB market in the UK. Says What Hi Fi Sound And Vision in its awards issue: "The DRX-601E digital tuner came out of nowhere to establish the firm as a major player in the digital tuner market. With the DRX-601ES VideoLogic goes one step further… and it works… the sound quality alone makes it a Product of the Year."

VideoLogic's president Kevin Dale, on receiving the award from chat show host Clive Anderson and What Hi Fi Sound And Vision editor Andy Clough at the awards presentation on September 4th, said: "This award is groundbreaking news for digital radio – the DRX-601ES is the first digital radio tuner to win in this category."

With the launch of the VideoLogic DRX-601E DAB receiver at just £299, digital radio finally became affordable. The DRX-601ES for £349 builds on the success of the award winning DRX-601E with performance tuning and a stylish silver anodised aluminium front panel along with silver finish casework and controls. Further enhancements include cool blue LED indicators, an easy to read blue/white display, and PAC™ Technology for psycho-acoustic compensation, the result of which is a significantly more natural sound than other DAB tuners on the market. A European version of this tuner, the DRX-602ES is available for €699 (£399) and supports 11 languages including: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Dutch, Portuguese, Finnish, Danish and Norwegian.

VideoLogic has recently announced that its DRX family of products is now available from over 700 high street retailers, including over 160 independent hi-fi stores across England, Scotland and Wales.
