VideoLogic Announces New PURE DAP-601ES Digital Audio Processor
VideoLogic – a division of Imagination Technologies – announces the new PURE DAP-601ES, an advanced digital audio processor featuring full support for PCM Stereo, Dolby Pro Logic II, Digital Theatre Systems (DTS), Dolby Digital and a broad range of EQ and DSP effects.
DAP-601ES will be available as part of the complete LiFE 4/10 system, which has a RRP of £2,499 inc. VAT, from VideoLogic's network of hi-fi dealers. It will also be available separately, priced at £499 (RRP).
DAP-601ES is one of the first products in the PURE range from VideoLogic. PURE is a new brand for VideoLogic's premium home entertainment and consumer audio products – products that will provide outstanding hi-fi quality and market-leading value. Other new PURE products include the complete LiFE 4/10 home cinema surround audio system, the DRX-601ESM Mini DAB tuner and the DRX-601EX portable DAB radio.
DAP-601ES' stylish silver design features an anodised aluminium fascia and silver casework and controls. Only the power control and speaker configuration LEDs1
are featured on the front of the case – all other features are controlled from the included remote control with configuration information displayed on the integral blue negative mode LCD front panel. The result is a sleek and stylish unit that looks at home in even the most elegant of surroundings, unlike many of today's cumbersome, ugly and over complicated offerings in the home cinema market.
DAP-601ES provides a broad range of connections including digital input (S/P-DIF) via coaxial or optical (Toslink), three line-in analogue stereo phono inputs (TV, VCR, AUX) and six-channel analogue output for connection to a 5.1 amplifier system such as VideoLogic's MCP-601ES, also announced today.
The DAP-601ES features an integral five-band equaliser with ±10dB range and a range of DSP effects including Hall, Theatre, Stadium, Club and Church modes with adjustable reverb levels.
To further simplify operation four presets are programmable from the remote control so that preferred settings can be saved for common uses such as music, Nicam TV or movies. Bass management is fully configurable for the five satellite speakers and three DRC modes allow varying degrees of dynamic range compression.
The remote control unit allows remote operation of all functions, including: power on/off; master volume; mute; input select; surround mode select; speaker on/off (for surround, centre and sub); individual channel delay; individual channel volume; EQ; preset programming; bass management and DRC.
LEDs show red if channel is outputting bass, or green if channel has hi-pass filter applied and bass frequencies are steered to the subwoofer.
