VideoLogic Introduces Sirocco Crossfire Speaker System at Cebit

by
VideoLogic - the international company that develops, designs and supplies market-leading 2D/3D graphics accelerator and audio products for PCs, games consoles and arcade entertainment machines - has today announced the Sirocco Crossfire quad speaker system for PC users which can be seen at CeBIT 99 in Hannover from the 18-24th March (Hall 9, Stand A78).

Sirocco Crossfire is a 4.1 speaker set comprising an amplifier, subwoofer and four satellite speakers. For true HRTF 3D positional audio the four speaker Sirocco Crossfire is unrivalled, providing superb surround sound for PC gamers based on VideoLogic's award winning Sirocco speaker system. Sirocco Crossfire will be available from May 1999 for £199 (ex. VAT, UK).

Kevin Dale, marketing and sales director, VideoLogic Systems says: "More and more soundcards are available with front and rear outputs, but few speaker systems provide four speaker support, and none provide the level of sound quality of our Sirocco brand. Sirocco Crossfire expands the Sirocco range with an exciting new implementation for 3D positional audio, while maintaining the hi-fi quality and remarkable value for which Sirocco is renowned."

Sirocco Crossfire is the ideal complement to VideoLogic's recently introduced SonicVortex2 soundcard, based on Aureal's new Vortex2 chip, which provides stunning 3D positional sound for games using Aureal A3D 2.0/1.0 and DirectSound 3D. When used together the result is sensational audio for PC gamers.

The Sirocco Crossfire satellites are produced by Audax, part of Harman Industries and one of the leading suppliers to the high-end hi-fi industry.

The system's subwoofer is the same as that used in VideoLogic's award winning Sirocco speaker system. The amplifier is a modified version but maintaining the same power supply and amplifier subsystems.

Sirocco Crossfire has also been provided with multiple inputs to connect devices such as a PC, Discman and CD player, simultaneously by way of a second set of inputs on the rear and a 3.5mm input on the front for easy connection to any device with stereo line-level output.Technical Information
