VideoLogic ZXR-750 Surround Sound Speaker System

London, UK: PURE Digital – a division of Imagination Technologies – announces ZXR-750, the world's first integrated 7.1-speaker system. The stylish silver ZXR-750 provides outstanding quality audio for surround sound games and movies. It will be available from July 2003 for £99.99 (inc. VAT UK).

The perfect partner for any DVD player, or the new generation of multi-channel soundcards, ZXR-750 is a powerful 7.1 speaker system, directly descended from the award winning ZXR-500/550, favoured by audio enthusiasts and system builders. The ZXR-750 provides outstanding usability and enhanced surround sound audio, whether bringing DVD movies to life, blasting out the latest games or immersing the listener in music. Using years of professional audio experience, gained through the development of PURE's award winning ZXR, DigiTheatre, Sirocco and LiFE ranges, this compact powerhouse has been engineered to outperform systems costing twice as much.

Exclusive SurFE™ and ConnX.1™ Technologies
Of course ZXR-750 provides straightforward playback of 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 audio sources - maximising the potential of new Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES material.1 However, with PURE's groundbreaking SurFE (Surround Field Enhancement) technology the system can also deliver eight channel playback (7.1), from 5.1 source material. With SurFE, the two rear channels from any 5.1 source are converted into four discrete side and rear channels. This means that movement of sounds behind the listener tracks perfectly smoothly between the speakers, delivering the listener right into the centre of the action. With SurFE the ZXR-750 brings new excitement to 5.1 channel DVDs and revitalises existing DVD collections.

ZXR-750's unique ConnX.1 technology enables users to configure ZXR-750 optimally yet simply for any multi-channel source – whether 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1. No matter what source is connected, ConnX.1 means the listener gets perfect multi-channel delivery every time. It's even possible to simultaneously connect an auxiliary stereo source, allowing switching between TV/Audio and DVD viewing.

Says Jas Garcha, Head of Systemax PC Operations: "ZXR-750 offers Systemax users not only the first PC eight-channel speaker system, but also outstanding compatibility with the 5.1 films and games they already own. Being able to create 7.1 surround-sound out of 5.1 sources makes ZXR-750 the premier choice for PC multimedia systems."

Says Jag Mann, Product Manager, Multivision: "ZXR-750 sets a new standard for multi-channel PC speaker systems. The combination of great value, class-leading sound quality and the innovative SurFE technology puts ZXR-750 ahead of the field."

ZXR-750 features dual flared subwoofer bass ports, impressive amplifier electronics and tuned satellite speakers, giving it a flatter, more accurate response for class-leading musical fidelity. With seven powerful discrete satellite speakers and a 28W RMS subwoofer, ZXR-750 delivers serious sound with 84W true RMS.

The comprehensive package includes everything you need to get up and running quickly with connecting cables, detachable speaker stands for all satellites, optional wall-mounting brackets for rear satellites and a clear, concise user guide. Just connect up to your multi-channel soundcard or DVD player and immerse yourself in sound.

ZXR-750's professional styling provides a stunning mix of form and function with a stylish matt silver finish chosen to complement PC, video or hi-fi kit and looks good in any room.

The system is Dolby Digital, DTS and Pro Logic compatible with eight separate phono inputs and a carefully tuned amplifier to take full advantage of the sound from a multi-channel enabled sound card or decoder. Increasing numbers of games, DVD movies and music are recorded using these surround sound audio technologies. A separate decoder is required for multi-channel output.

ZXR-750 is supplied with an excellent support package including a two year warranty backed up by a technical hotline and website support.

Editor's Notes
1 all surround formats supported require output from a suitable decoder – either a PC soundcard with 5.1/6.1/7.1 outputs, a DVD player with in-built decoder, or a stand-alone decoder. ZXR-750 fully supports audio inputs for stereo, 3.1, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 playback.
