PURE Digital and Robert Bosch (SEA) Bring Affordable DAB Digital Radio to Singapore

London, UK: PURE Digital – a division of Imagination Technologies – has appointed Robert Bosch (SEA) as its sole distributor in Singapore, supplying its complete range of award-winning in-home and portable DAB digital radio products.

Said Kevin Dale, president, PURE Digital, "Robert Bosch's existing DAB expertise and outstanding reputation made it the ideal partner to bring PURE branded products to Singapore. We think products like the iconic EVOKE-1 – the world's best selling DAB radio – and The Bug will fulfil the pent up demand for high-quality yet affordable DAB product."

Said Martin Low, Robert Bosch's regional general manager of car multimedia sales, "DAB has been available in Singapore since 1999, and the biggest barrier that prevented DAB from taking off was high pricing. This will change now with users able to obtain PURE DAB digital radios from $300."

Said Seto Lok Yin, Director of Industry Development of the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), "As we work towards developing Singapore into a vibrant global media city, the MDA will continue to be committed to introducing and promoting DAB technology to the public. DAB technology makes it possible for the public to enjoy on-demand data services and we are excited by the partnership between PURE Digital and Robert Bosch, which will bring a greater variety of digital radio receivers into people's homes."

The PURE DAB radio range includes the EVOKE-1 and EVOKE-2 portable radios, the recently launched Bug radio with pause, rewind & record functionality, the TEMPUS-1 radio/alarm, the PocketDAB 1000 handheld radio and the DRX-701ES and DRX-702ES hi-fi tuners. The Legato micro system will also be available when it ships later in the summer. The products cost from $300 to $1,299 (Singapore) and will complement the Blaupunkt range of in-car DAB products, also available from Robert Bosch.

Robert Bosch (SEA) said it has also tied up with Courts Singapore, one of the country's largest furniture, electronics and IT retailers, to retail the PURE Digital DAB products exclusively for six months.

DAB household users in Singapore can receive SmartRadio's seven simulcast stations and six other DAB exclusive channels, including financial news from Bloomberg. They can also access data services such as news, traffic reports and flight information. SmartRadio is the digital radio service of Singapore radio broadcaster, MediaCorp Radio.About Robert Bosch (SEA) Pte Ltd
