VideoLogic Offers New DVD Solution For PC Users

by
VideoLogic Systems - a division of Imagination Technologies - has today announced that it is shipping the VideoLogic Software DVD Player, which is available now from the VideoLogic Web Store at www.videologic.com for just £9.99 (inc. VAT and delivery). Software DVD Player can be seen at CeBIT 2000 in Hannover from 24th February - 1st March on the Imagination Technologies stand (Hall 9, A78).

VideoLogic Software DVD Player has been developed to provide full compatibility with the S/PDIF output on VideoLogic's SonicVortex2 (or other S/PDIF enabled soundcard) to provide AC3/Dolby Digital 5.1 output to a suitable decoder - including VideoLogic's DigiTheatre DTS, DigiTheatre or DigiTheatre Decoder.

David Harold, PR manager, VideoLogic Systems says: "DVD has been a remarkably successful technology - superceding the fast rate of adoption enjoyed by CD on its launch. VideoLogic's range, including DVD Player, DigiTheatre and SonicVortex2, has enabled PC users to enjoy DVD quality on a par with that of stand-alone DVD players. Our new Software DVD Player enables an even wider audience to enjoy the pleasures of DVD."

VideoLogic's Software DVD Player, developed in conjunction with Ravisent Technology, provides the highest quality DVD playback experience available in a software-only solution on any 233 MHz MMX Pentium II system or better, equipped with a DVD-ROM drive and Windows 95/98™.

The comprehensive specification of VideoLogic's Software DVD ensures that it works with all DVD discs, including the latest generation of 'hybrid' DVD/DVD-ROM discs as well as CD and VideoCD formats.
