VideoLogic's Sirocco Speaker System Becomes Millennium Product
VideoLogic Systems - a division of Imagination Technologies - has today announced that its Sirocco speaker system has been granted Millennium Products status by the Design Council after Prime Minister Tony Blair challenged businesses to show that Britain is the creative powerhouse of the world.
The news was announced by the Prime Minister at the launch of the fifth tranche of the Design Council's Millennium Products initiative.
Sirocco, made in the UK by VideoLogic Systems, is a hi-fi quality speaker system comprising two satellites, a subwoofer and amplifier that manages to achieve remarkable price points by applying VideoLogic's innovative design skills to the techniques and components from the hi-fi industry. Sirocco has created a paradigm shift in computer audio winning accolades from numerous magazines - including the prestigious PC Magazine UK Technical Innovation Award for Best Multimedia Product - and is widely used for gaming, MP3 playback and PC music creation.
The product's success has given rise to a range of speakers from VideoLogic built to the same quality standard as Sirocco, including, Sirocco Spirit, Sirocco Crossfire and Sirocco Pro. Within the same categories, no other speaker systems come close to the Sirocco family's hi-fi quality sound.
According to Kevin Dale, Marketing and Sales Director, VideoLogic Systems, "Sirocco has won numerous accolades from the PC and hi-fi press in the past year and we are especially delighted to receive this further endorsement from the Design Council. We are thrilled that as a Millennium Product Sirocco will be included at the Spiral of Innovation at the Millennium Dome."
Andrew Summers, Chief Executive of the Design Council said: "We offer our warmest congratulations to Kevin Dale of Imagination Technologies for the selection of Sirocco as a Millennium Product. We sincerely hope that Sirocco will be a big success for the company and we hope that Millennium Products status will encourage VideoLogic Systems in further successful innovations."
