Michael R Peters Win PURE Eco Holiday
London, UK 5th August 2009: Thomas Waddington, a salesman at Michael R Peters in Bedford, has won the first eco holiday prize in PURE's 'Less than a Light Bulb' retailer reward campaign.
PURE is encouraging dealers to sell more of its Energy Saving Trust accredited radios by giving away a tailor-made eco-holiday, worth £500, to participating dealers each month until the end of this year. On top of the monthly incentive, throughout October to December 2009 dealers will have the opportunity to win the grand prize of a luxury eco-holiday worth £2,000.
Peter Dimmick, Michael R Peter's Store Manager said: "More and more customers are coming in and asking for eco-friendly products and PURE's 'Less than a Light Bulb' campaign POS has enabled us to easily communicate the energy saving credentials of the radios. The combination of a staff and consumer holiday incentive has been very popular in-store especially as it is open to all staff. We are particularly pleased that Thomas has won this prize as he really deserves it!"
A consumer promotion is also available, exclusively at independent dealerships who sign up to the incentive, offering consumers purchasing an Energy Saving Recommended PURE radio a chance to win a luxury eco-holiday worth £2,000*. The consumer promotion is running for three months from June to the end of August 2009.
The holidays will be supplied by Ecoescape®, the acclaimed website and travel guide series for green places to holiday and will be tailored for the winner.
To qualify for the incentive dealers simply sign up with their PURE Area Sales Executive and purchase at least one Energy Saving Recommended (ESR) radio. For every PURE ESR radio that they sell, staff can claim a single entry into the prize draw -- so the more ESR radios they sell the more entries they get. Participating dealers will receive a special pack including POS advertising the consumer holiday incentive as well as posters illustrating PURE's 'Less than a Light Bulb' campaign. These clearly show that running four PURE Energy Saving Recommended radios will use less electricity than one low energy light bulb on for the same time, giving consumers a clear reason to buy**. Dealers who sign up will also receive an enhanced online presence at www.pure.com. Dealers should email PURE at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. PURE has received ten Energy Saving Recommended (ESR) accreditations for its radios including Move; EVOKE-1S; Siesta; Chronos II; TEMPUS-1S; ONE Mini; ONE Classic; ONE Elite; EVOKE Mio and EVOKE-2S.
Products endorsed by the scheme have to satisfy an Independent Endorsement Panel of experts, and have to meet strict energy efficiency criteria which means they are not only better for the environment but are also cheaper to run. All PURE radios endorsed by ESR will feature a special Energy Saving Recommended logo on their packaging and promotional material.
All ten radios endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust are part of EcoPlus™, PURE's green initiative as is PURE's entire product range. EcoPlus™ stands for reduced power consumption, packaging materials from recycled and sustainable sources and components selected to minimise their environmental impact.
* There is no purchase necessary for the consumer incentive. Consumers simply need to visit www.pure.com and click on the relevant link to enter the prize draw to win an Ecoescape 'luxury eco holiday' between 1st June 2009 until 31st August 2009.
** A PURE Energy Saving Trust accredited DAB radio consumes less than 3.5W of electricity in 'on' mode - which with three hours of listening a day (and turned off the rest of the time) would cost 60p a year on the average energy tariff; a typical low energy bulb consumes around 13-18W, which would cost £2.10 - £2.90 a year to run for the same number of hours a day on same the average energy tariff. A typical 13-18W energy saving light bulb is equivalent to a 60W incandescent ('traditional') bulb. 'Average' energy tariff is a price of 13.95p/kWh of electricity (as at Sept 2008).
