Game Signs Retail Agreement with VideoLogic for Apocalypse 3Dx Range

VideoLogic, the PC multimedia and 3D graphics company, has signed a retail agreement with Game, the UK high street games chain, for the distribution of its award winning Apocalypse 3Dx graphics card. Game is the number one retail supplier of PC and console games in the UK with 56 stores nationwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, every Game store nationwide will begin carrying the Apocalypse 3Dx product line from Saturday 16th August. VideoLogic is also in discussion with Game for the retail supply of other 3D graphics products in its range.

In conjunction with the agreement, Game and VideoLogic will also be conducting a launch promotion in every Game store across the UK, with all shop front and in-store branding being dedicated to Apocalypse 3Dx. The launch promotion will last two weeks.

"With the rapid growth in 3D games and acceleration hardware, the home PC has been transformed into a serious gaming platform that now outperforms traditional games consoles," said Kevin Dale, director of sales and marketing for VideoLogic Multimedia Systems. "As the gaming performance of the home PC continues to grow, retail chains such as Game will increasingly become a key channel to market for add-in cards such as Apocalypse 3Dx."

Apocalypse 3Dx is the second generation high-end dedicated 3D graphics accelerator card for the PC market from VideoLogic. Based on the recently introduced PowerVR PCX2TM 3D processor, the Apocalypse 3Dx is a single slot half length PCI card for Pentium based Windows 95 PCs. The card is compatible with DirectDraw-enabled 2D graphics cards or controllers. Apocalypse 3Dx is supplied with 4Mb of high performance SDRAM texture memory on board.

The Apocalypse 3Dx retail pack comes bundled with 5 special PowerVR games, including Tomb Raider, WipeOut 2097, Terracide, Ultim@te Race and MechWarrior 2 and has an RRP of £115.00 (exc.VAT).
