PURE Digital Sponsors Rising Rally Star

London, UK: PURE Digital – a division of Imagination Technologies (LSE:IMG) – presents TEAM PURE DIGITAL competing in the National Gravel Rally Championship, with up and coming driver Paul Alexander at the wheel of an open-class, ex-works Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII.

As well as bringing the PURE brand to a new audience and helping promote the company's world leading DAB digital radios, the partnership offers one of the UK's top drivers much-valued support. Paul is one of only five drivers with a Sky TV coverage deal, including an in-car camera, and as well as the high profile television coverage the rally car will make numerous show and print appearances.

The sponsorship will also enable PURE's retail partners to get in on the action with lucky participants in PURE's new SellPURE2win retail incentive promotion getting to ride in the TEAM PURE DIGITAL rally car – see www.sellPURE2win.co.uk for further details.

SellPURE2win is PURE's largest incentive programme to independent retailers so far. As well as rally car rides prizes include breakfast with a radio DJ, a flight in a radio news helicopter, exclusive gig tickets, and the opportunity to sit in on a live radio show broadcast.

About TEAM PURE Digital

Paul Alexander is one of the most talented rally drivers in the UK. Having started with a series of smaller rallies in a self-built car, Paul soon progressed into rallying's career ladder of manufacturer-backed, "one-make" championships.

2002 saw Paul move up to 4wd machinery in the form of Group-N Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII, with a string of successful performances demonstrating that the switch to all-wheel drive suited Paul's driving style perfectly. A top 10 overall finish in the Irish Tarmac Championship finale was followed by a dream start win on the opening round of the UK's toughest one-make series, the Mitsubishi lancer Evo challenge.

Paul's exploits in the 2004 British Rally Championship have resulted in him becoming one of only a handful of amateurs to represent his country in the Nations Cup competition – an honour that Paul is particularly proud of.

Bill Gwynne, founder of the longest-established rally-schools in the world recognises Paul's talent: "Paul is one of our leading instructors and, with his new Mitsubishi, is sure to put up an excellent challenge to the other contenders – even those in far more expensive machinery."

Dave Higgins, 2004 British Rally Champion, Double USA Pro-Rally Champion and current Mitsubishi WRC test driver: "I first met Paul to give him tuition back when he had a Peugeot 106, and by the end of the session I'd offered him a teaching job with me. His driving speaks for itself, and I can vouch for just how good the ex-Mitsubishi Team USA Lancer will be! Paul is sure to be very competitive."
