Music's elite sign Pure radios for Absolute Radio's Movember campaign

We have donated a number of Pure Evoke-1s Marshall digital radios to Absolute Radio in support of their Movember campaign as they put music behind the Mo and grow mos across the station to raise awareness and funds for men’s health - specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

Mumford and SonsMuseAbsolute Radio have donated an on-air campaign to Movember, set to be supported by an online hub at to drive awareness and mobilise Absolute Radio listeners to take part in Movember and raise money by ‘Growing a Mo’. Fundraising incentives to win a number of signed Marshall Pure Evoke-1S digital radios from some of music’s elite including Noel Gallagher, Elbow, Plan B, Muse and Mumford & Sons will also be on offer to listeners participating in Movember.

Absolute Radio LogoAbsolute Radio DJ’s Andy Bush, Pete Donaldson, Christian Nash, Rock ‘N’ Roll Football lead commentator Jim Proudfoot and Sarah Champion will all be taking part to celebrate Movember. The station’s male DJ participants will become ‘Mo Bros’ and will start the month of November clean shaven before growing and grooming their moustache all month long. Sarah Champion will take on ‘Mo Sista’ status described essentially as a woman who loves a Mo. She will be supporting her male colleagues on their moustache growing journey and sharing her personal family story of her father who had prostate cancer.

All money raised in the UK is directed to programmes run by Movember and their men’s health partners Prostate Cancer UK and The Institute of Cancer Research. In 2011, 854,000 Mo Bros and Mo Sistas raised over £79.3 million globally and over £22 million in the UK and since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia in 2003, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement with campaigns in 21 countries in 2012.
