by

Get ready to pull on your cowboy boots and doff your Stetson hat, because the UK’s first country music station is coming to digital radio! Launching on Friday 5th April, Country Hits Radio will join the ever-growing list of fantastic stations available to digital listeners across the nation.

Broadcasting from Manchester, the Bauer station is set to celebrate a blossoming country music scene, playing the biggest hits from the best artists that are bringing the UK’s fastest growing genre into the mainstream.

With around 8.7 million fans now enjoying country music in the UK, and a booming live gig and festival scene, listeners will love the playlist of artists – including Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Florida Georgia Line and Carrie Underwood.

On top of this, Baylen Leonard (BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4) joins the station for a daily weekday show – fresh from his win of International Country Broadcaster at the 2019 CMA International Awards. Nashville-born radio host Ty Bentli will also share the best music and news from the US country scene, Monday to Friday, while singer-songwriter Una Healy (The Saturdays, The Voice of Ireland) lines up for a weekend show.

Graham Bryce, Group Managing Director for Hits Radio and Greatest Hits Networks said: “Our insight tells us that this unique and valuable 25-44 year old music loving audience, love country music and live experiences, and we feel there is a wealth of opportunity around this station as it’s the first of its kind to realise the demand for this fast-growing genre.”
