The Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards 2018 took place on Tuesday afternoon at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, celebrating the very best of radio and television broadcasting.
Once again, we were honoured to sponsor the award for Radio Programme – which was presented this year by Love Island 2017 couple, Marcel and Gabby.
Christian O’Connell’s Breakfast Show on Absolute Radio was revealed the worthy victor of the gong, fending off strong competition from Roman Kemp’s Capital Breakfast and The Official Vodafone Big Top 40 with Marvin Humes.
Hosted by TRIC president and former Capital Breakfast host, Lisa Snowdon, other big winners at the annual bash included Dermot O’Leary for Radio Personality and a TRIC Special Award for daytime stalwart This Morning on its 30th anniversary.
Following a superb day out at the ceremony, everyone at Pure would like to congratulate Christian O’Connell and the rest of the team at Absolute’s Breakfast Show!
The award will also come as a cherished farewell gesture for O’Connell, who is set to depart from Absolute Radio after a 12-year stint on the breakfast slot. Check out his heartfelt reaction on Twitter below:
