The Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards 2017 took place on Tuesday afternoon at London’s swanky Grosvenor House Hotel and Pure had the huge honour of sponsoring the prize for best Digital Radio Programme.
Heart Breakfast hosts Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton were announced as worthy winners of the gong – which was presented by Blue singer turned Hollyoaks actor, Duncan James. They fended off stiff competition from Absolute Radio’s Christian O’Connell breakfast show and the Vodafone Big Top 40 with Marvin Humes and Kat Shoob.
A delighted Emma Bunton also took home the day’s other radio-related award, winning The Radio Presenter of the Year accolade.
The event’s host and president of the TRIC committee, Jeff Stelling, was in fine form as he entertained an audience full of industry delegates and broadcasting celebs.
The annual awards bash honours those in the communications industry for their work across the media. Other winners from the afternoon included Match of the Day for best Sports Programme, a hat-trick of awards for Holly Willoughby and the TRIC Special Award for Eastenders veteran June Brown.
While we’re still recovering from a fantastic day at the TRIC Awards, we’d like to extend a massive congratulations to Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton and everybody else involved with Heart Breakfast. You can tune into the award-winning programme every weekday morning from 6am.
As you can see from Emma Bunton’s Instagram post below, the pair were clearly thrilled with their victory. Continue scrolling down to see more reactions from the day.
