How to listen to Glastonbury 2019 on your digital radio

The biggest weekend in the world of music is back! After a much-needed break last summer to rejuvenate Worthy Farm, the legendary Glastonbury Festival takes place from the 26th June to 1st July – and it’s bigger than ever.

An iconic fixture on the global festival calendar, the Somerset event welcomes thousands of acts from around the world across hundreds of stages. If you’re not one of the lucky bunch to have a ticket to the festival, you can still enjoy unprecedented access to a fantastic weekend of live music all from your digital radio. Whether at home or on the move, tune into explosive headline sets from the Pyramid Stage and beyond or discover breakthrough acts from across this year’s epic line-up. The choice is endless.

As ever, BBC Radio is your destination for all things Glastonbury – broadcasting live performances and highlights from across five stations.

Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra

Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Jack Saunders will launch the BBC’s Glastonbury 2019 on Thursday 27th June from 8-11pm, bringing listeners interviews, live DJ sets and performances from special guests.

Throughout the weekend, from 10am-4pm, Jack will be reporting back to the Radio 1 studio in London live from the festival site, bringing all the latest news from Worthy Farm.

DJ Target will kick off 1Xtra’s coverage on the Friday as he hosts a warm-up show ahead of Stormzy’s much anticipated Pyramid Stage headline set – which will be broadcast live on the station. Sir Spyro will then continue the celebrations until 1am.

If you missed Stormzy’s set, there will be another to listen to highlights on DJ Target’s Saturday show, which will be simulcast on Radio 1 and Radio 1Xtra.

Radio 2

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show will come broadcast live from Glastonbury on Friday morning, with live music from Sheryl Crow. Zoe will also be chatting to Kylie Minogue, who is set to perform the legend slot on the Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon.

On Saturday afternoon, Jo Whiley will be live from Worthy Farm bringing highlights from the festival so far. Later that evening listeners can tune in to The Killers’ headline show from the Pyramid Stage.

Jo will be back on Sunday afternoon with more interviews, live music, highlights and Kylie Minogue’s live performance.

Radio 5 live

On Sunday 30 June, Laura Whitmore will be bringing the sights and sounds of Glastonbury to Radio 5 live listeners – chatting to crowd members and performing artists.

Radio 6 Music

Expect hours of live coverage over the weekend from digital-only station 6 Music. On Friday afternoon, Steve Lamacq will be broadcasting from backstage at the BBC Music Introducing stage. He’ll be joined by special guests, including Fontaines DC and IDLES, as well as roaming around the festival site.

On Saturday, Lauren Laverne will be live from the festival, with Mark Radcliffe and Steve Lamacq bringing live music and highlights from the Sunday – culminating with The Cure’s headline slot that evening.
