Summer is finally here – and that can only mean one thing. It’s festival season! To get you ready for a jam-packed few months ahead, we’ve put together a guide with everything you need to know about the best festivals in the UK.

TRNSMT

When: 7-9 July

Where: Glasgow

Filling the void of Scotland’s legendary T in the Park weekender, is a brand spanking new festival which hopes to fill the big boots of its predecessor in style. And there’s certainly no messing about with the line-up! Rock and roll heavyweights traipsing down to the non-camping event include Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro.

Creamfields

When: 24-27 August

Where: Cheshire

The cream of the EDM world (no pun intended) will be out in full force for this one. While DJs may not be renowned for their stage presence, they’ll more than make up for it with eye-popping performances jam packed with crazy visuals, lasers and a whole lot of confetti. Creamfields is part music festival, part Instagrammers dream!

Green Man

When: 17-20 August

Where: Brecon Beacons

Hidden away within the lush surroundings of the Welsh countryside is this absolute gem. A relaxing getaway perfect for families, entrants can enjoy way more than just music. Left-field attractions on offer include; comedy, literature and even yoga classes! If you need to find your zen, Green Man is the ultimate destination.

V Festival

When: 19-20 August

Where: Essex and Staffordshire

This huge dual-site event is a yearly stomping ground for chart-storming artists from both sides of the pond. Hosting a mix of fresh new talent and behemoths like Jay Z, Ellie Goulding and Pink, it’s the place to be for pop purists this summer.

Glastonbury

When: 21-25 June

Where: Somerset

The holy grail of all music festivals, featuring thousands of acts on over 100 stages. With a surprise around every corner, Glasto must really be seen to be believed! As usual, the Worthy farm bash sold out in record time. So, we’re afraid if you haven’t got a ticket, you’ll have to settle for listening along on the radio.

NASS

When: 6-9 July

Where: Somerset

Here’s a festival with a real twist. The guys at NASS have coupled the best of underground urban music with skate and BMX culture to deliver a high-octane weekend which you certainly won’t forget. See you on the halfpipe!

Boardmasters

When: 9-13 August

Where: Cornwall

A music festival by the beach? If that isn’t the ultimate summer combo, then we’re not sure what is! Not only a mecca for surfers across the nation, Boardmasters is also the perfect springboard for the headline acts of tomorrow on the brink of stepping up to the big stage. Just excuse us for a second while we book our tickets!

Reading & Leeds

When: 25-27 August

Where: Reading and Leeds (obviously!)

A legendary festival which has cemented itself into British music history thanks to a host of seminal performances. While the twin-site bash used to be the home of alternative and heavier music, it’s now expanded to cater for almost every taste. This year’s bill welcomes rap god Eminem as well as festival favourites Kasabian and Muse.

Lovebox

When: 14-15 July

Where: London

Love the atmosphere of a great music festival, but not the hassle of camping? Then this could be the one for you. Lovebox is a two-day carnival taking place bang-smack in the middle of London. With hip-hop icon, Frank Ocean as headliner, it’s also the hottest ticket in the capital this year.

Sundown

When: 1-3 September

Where: Norwich

A frontrunner in a new generation of up-and-coming festivals. Sundown is only a few years old and has already developed massively since its inception. This year’s bill features some of the biggest UK acts of the past year – with a Saturday consisting of Craig David, Rag’n’Bone Man and many more!

Wireless

When: 7-9 July

Where: London

Another huge hip-hop gathering in the heart of London with an undisputable reputation of booking the biggest names around the world. This year’s highlights include US breakthrough star Chance The Rapper and a hometown headline appearance from grime hero Skepta.

Latitude

When: 13-16 July

Where: Suffolk

While it may have the look and feel of a boutique festival, Latitude is now revered as one of the big-hitters on the circuit. So while you’re enjoying great company in the charming setting of Henham Park, you’ll also be safe in the knowledge of experiencing one of the finest musical, entertainment and comedy line-ups in the UK.

Boomtown

When: 10-13 August

Where: Hampshire

A trip to Boomtown is like winning a golden ticket a fantasy world. For one weekend only, a quiet patch is countryside is spectacularly transformed into an alternate world – complete with a city and uniquely themed districts welcoming almost every genre of music. As one of the most eclectic festivals in the world, be prepared for the unexpected!

Bestival

When: 7-10 September

Where: Dorset

Dubbed as Glasto’s younger sister, Bestival offers all the excitement and escapism but on a smaller scale – including 2017’s all new Temple stage. Formerly a mainstay on the Isle of Wight, this year’s event will re-locate to Dorset. But rest assured, it promises to be every bit as breath-taking – with a bill boasting the likes of The xx and Dizzee Rascal.
