London, 3rd June, 2015: Pure presents a new designer edition of the award-winning Pop Midi and Maxi digital radios. Both digital radios, which also include Bluetooth for wireless streaming, feature a Mini Moderns signature design called “Whitby”, which has a nautical theme. “Pop Midi by Midi Moderns” and “Pop Maxi by Mini Moderns” will be available through John Lewis, Mini Moderns’ online store and independent retailers at an SRP of £89.99 and £109.99 respectively.

Inspired by 1950s linocuts, Mini Moderns’ Whitby design captures the majesty and beauty of the open sea. London based Mini Moderns designers Keith Stephenson and Mark Hampshire explain how the design came about: “Coincidentally, we both spent all our holidays on the North Yorkshire coastline… so when we think of the seaside, it’s not beach huts and yachts, but the vibrancy of a working fishing harbour that comes to mind. The linocut style offered the perfect way of expressing the movement of the waves and the ruggedness of the coastline we know so well.”

“We’re really proud to be collaborating with such an iconic British brand as Pure, particularly as they share our ambition to combine quality with unique design. Pure’s Pop range showcases our Whitby design perfectly and we are sure the radios will be a big hit with fans of both brands.”

Says Nick Hucker, Pure’s Senior Director of Global Marketing: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Mini Moderns as we really identify with their creativity and influence in British interior design. The Pop family has already won a prestigious Red Dot design award[1] for its innovative design and we think its style marries perfectly with the attention to detail in Mini Moderns’ Whitby collection. We recognise that our customers love our designer collaborations and this new range champions Pure’s focus on design in home technology. Pop by Mini Moderns is the next step in our focus on bringing fashion and customisation to our products.”

Designed and hand tuned in the UK by Pure’s audio experts, the Pop range is designed using insights from extensive research with radio listeners. Its key design elements are derived from a study into how people want to use and interact with their radios. The result is a trio of products, Pop Mini, Pop Midi and Pop Maxi, with instant access and ease of use at the forefront of its design, while delivering high quality audio.

Benefitting from Pure’s heritage of British design and engineering, the practical and stylish Pop family uses highly energy efficient digital audio amplification to deliver the best possible sound quality, excellent battery life and low power consumption. The Pop family comes with three years warranty as standard and is mains powered with the option to take regular alkaline batteries or an eco-friendly rechargeable ChargePAK D1 for portable use. As with all Pure’s current range of digital radio, Pop is Digital Radio tick approved, meaning the range is future proofed and ready for a Digital Radio switchover.

The range starts from an SRP of £89.99 up to £109.99.

The Pop by Mini Moderns range will be available from John Lewis and Mini Moderns’ online store http://www.minimoderns.com as well as selected independent retailers.  For more information, please visit www.pure.com
