Despite the weather living up to the reputation of a typical British summer, these new tunes are ripe and ready to bring a little sunshine to your August.
Tom Grennan - Found What I’ve Been Looking For
Over a short space of time, Tom Grennan has rapidly cemented his status as one of the UK’s most promising breakthrough artists. Equipped with an undeniable knack for song writing and an incredible set of lungs, the 22-year-old has now unveiled his superb third EP.
Its title track, Found What I’ve Been Looking For, is a powerful anthem which fuses Grennan’s soulful side with a distinctly British, urban sound. If this is a sign of things to come, then greatness surely beckons for this fledgling talent.

Charli XCX - Boys
Charli XCX is back with her latest single, and as you’d expect, it’s yet another serving of sugary pop perfection. In the aptly titled Boys, she pines over a host of heartthrobs – unapologetically admitting “I was just thinking ‘bout boys, boys, boys,” over a glitchy, sultry backing track.
In case you missed it, XCX also managed to break the internet with the song’s accompanying must-see video. Subverting gender stereotypes, she enlists a host of male stars – including Stormzy, Diplo and more – to act out roles usually reserved for women in music visuals. Check out the amazing video above!

Jake Bugg - How Soon The Dawn
It doesn’t seem so long ago when an 18-year-old Jake Bugg sent shockwaves around the world with his phenomenal debut album single, Lightning Bolt. Fast forward five years and the Nottingham troubadour is gearing up for the release of his fourth studio album.
This acoustic-led effort, recorded in Nashville, sees Bugg return to basics – taking a strong influence from the city’s legendary country music scene. The result is a beautifully crafted tune which showcases a maturity well beyond the singer’s age. It’s also the perfect soundtrack for a hazy summer evening.

Everything Everything - Desire
Standing somewhere between Radiohead and Bloc Party, this exciting four-piece from Manchester mash together the best of chin-stroking, experimental rock with infectious indie disco. Desire, which encapsulates this perfectly, is a frantic taster of Everything Everything’s fourth album, due for release later this month.
Led by frontman Jonathan Higgs’ distinct falsetto, the track reaches an explosive crescendo with its fist-pumping chorus. Trust us, it will be stuck in your head for days to come. The kaleidoscopic video is also a real joy to watch – matching the track’s frenzied beat with a rollercoaster of neon visuals.

Jessie Ware - Midnight
It’s been a long three years since Jessie Ware released her phenomenal second album, Tough Love. Just like her first record, it revealed a vocalist shunning pop-friendly tunes in favour of a contemplative, complex sound. It also left us wanting more. Thankfully, the wait for new music is now over. And boy, was the wait worth it!
Midnight gorgeously melds together elements of R&B, soul and British dance music, while showcasing Ware’s flawless vocal range. Bathed in tender emotion, this beautiful track sees the enigmatic singer at the peak of her powers.
