English Language Radio Stations around the World

In celebration of United Nations’ English Language Day

In celebration of United Nations’ English Language Day, we wanted to share a few of our favourite global English language radio stations. Whether you’re an expat, studying abroad, travelling around the world or even trying to learn the language, English language radio stations are a great way to connect with the rest of the world.

English Language Day is celebrated annually on 23rd April – the date when tradition says the master of the English language and playwright William Shakespeare was born. His plays continue to be published, performed in theatres and seen in films almost 400 years after his death.

The United Nations celebrated its first English Language Day on 23rd April 2010. That day, a number of events were held at the U.N.’s headquarters in New York City.
